The New Yorker's Obama photo
I stumbled across this The New Yorker magazine and this shit is pretty racist, well to me....it seems like the media, and "_ _ _ _ _" people have motives, i dont know, you tell me,
Obamas in 2008
The magazine's July 21, 2008 cover sparked criticism with its depiction of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama dressed in traditional Muslim garb, and his wife, Michelle, portrayed as a 1960s-era Black militant, dressed in military-style camouflage with an assault rifle slung over her back. They are standing in the Oval Office, with a portrait of Osama Bin Laden hanging on the wall and an American flag burning in the fireplace in the background.
New Yorker editor David Remnick said this about the controversy: "The intent of the cover is to satirize the vicious and racist attacks and rumors and misconceptions about the Obamas that have been floating around in the blogosphere and are reflected in public opinion polls. What we set out to do was to throw all these images together, which are all over the top and to shine a kind of harsh light on them, to satirize them. That’s part of what we do."New Yorker covers are often only tangentially related to the content of the magazine, and in this case the article in the July 21 issue about Obama does not discuss the attacks and rumors, but rather Obama's political career to date.
